MUMO's CONCEPT
We are all about changing what is UNETHICAL about fashion today. By working with designers to mitigate the negative impact their supply chains might have on society and the environment. This includes issues such as working conditions, ensuring a fair wage and social reinvestment in workers' communities. MUMO believes this is how we should think about and ultimately define Ethical Fashion.
SOCIAL REINVESTMENT
5% of MUMO revenues go towards to achieving this aim. It is a 3 pronged approach which focuses on the following goals:
· PEOPLE - basic rights of workers in the supply chain, eg decent wages and good working conditions
· COMMUNITIES - social reinvestment in the communities which the supply chain is by definition using up resource from ( for example, peoples families, communities etc are impacted if a factory is the main employer in the area)
· ENVIRONMENT– ethical production of fabrics, the carbon footprint of importation & exportation and the pollution of production.
We priorities basic needs such as a living wage and good working conditions but also support the communities of the workers who make the clothes.
